HAPPY OCTOBER!! Holy
crap October already!!! I honestly wouldn't be able to tell because the weather
here is the same all the time hahahah. It is always a perfect temperature, I
never need a sweater, and it rains a lot. I love it! I’m sad that Ecuador will be
nothing like this hahaha.
I finally played soccer this week. I felt like I wasn't living right without playing soccer in a foreign country. Especiallly in Colombia where everyone plays soccer. It was so fun. Its’ very comforting to know that I’m better than I think I am. Playing soccer with Latinos in Colombia can be checked off my life bucket list.
So over the past week
i have gotten the biggest kick out of the fact that there are so many people
here that look like people i know. its freaking hilarious. Other than the elder
that looks like Connor, there are three missionaries here that look like
Candice Flynn, Phineas and Ferb. No joke, it is the funniest thing. Also there
is an elder here that looks EXACTLY like Porter. And there is a Latino Steve
Carrell and Justin Bieber. Honestly I can't even describe how funny that
is.
We had fast Sunday
this past week and it was so cool. I haven't truly fasted in a long time and I
had forgotten how effective it is. Fasts answer prayers. That Sunday was full
of awesome spiritual experiences. We had the COOLEST LESSON OH MY GOSH. Hermana
Duvall, the president's wife. Taught a lesson on temples. And we were reading
in Doctrine and Covenants 84:88. Dad, if you recall you told me about this
scripture in your letter and it is without a doubt one of my new favorites so
thank you. But in the scripture, which I suggest everyone read, it talks about
the angels that will be round about you. And we were talking about all the
different kinds of angels that could be around us. Some of those angels were...
Past family- and I thought about Emily-, my future family - my kids and grandkids-,
the families of people I have done work for in the temple and the family of
those people I will bring to the gospel here-, and then the last one we
mentioned was the angels that are praying for us. And one missionary talked
about her mom and in a letter from her mom she had said, "there is nothing
stronger than a mother's prayer" and wow that hit me like a rock. I knew
it to be true. Mom I feel your prayers every day. Every single day. And thank
you for them. I love you so much mama. And don't worry fam. I feel your prayers
too. I know dad is praying for me. It makes me cry when I think about it
hahaha. I can feel the prayers of my wonderful siblings, my grandparents, my
aunts and uncles and I truly, truly, truly love and appreciate them. Thank you
fam. I love you guys.
We got to watch the
funeral of Richard G. Scott earlier this week. It was amazing. The spirit was
so strong and it made me SOOOO EXCITED for Conference this weekend!!! YOU ALL
BETTER BE WATCHING BECAUSE I WILL BE WATCHING TOO (In English thank goodness)
AND THAT MEANS WE WILL BE WATCHING TOGETHER LIKE I WAS AT HOME. I can't wait to
talk about that next Tuesday with you guys. Friendly reminder, I email on Tuesday
next week which believe it or not will be the start of my FIFTH week here. CAN
YOU BELIEVE it has already been a month?? I can't.
Mother, in my call
packet is the address to the mission home in Ecuador. Send stuff to that
address. If you would like to prepare a package for me in the near future, I
would love some nail polish, some socks, and will you print me some conference
talks?? That would make me so happy. And I trust you to know which ones to
pick.
We get to go proselyte
tomorrow for three hours in a random part of Bogota. I know that probably
freaks you out mother. But don't worry, it is very supervised and IT IS SO MUCH
FUN. I can actually speak Spanish. Not proficiently obviously. But I can carry
a conversation and tell people about the gospel. So I think I’m set.
I LOVE YOU GUYS SO
MUCH. I MISS YOU SO MUCH. AND I LOOK AT PICTURES OF US ALL THE TIME.
Thank you for your
love and for your prayers. I am ALWAYS praying for you too,
LOVE ALWAYS
