Be Bold

Mi Dulce Mama,

I didn't tell you this last week but when you called me your dulce nina I about died. I LOVE THAT. YOU ARE SO CUTE MOM. Also I didn't say this last week either but your phone call was perfect mama. You said EXACTLY what I needed to hear. You told me you loved me many times which I needed to hear and you also told me to BE BOLD. That phrase right there is what has been getting me through. Thank you mama p. you're the best.

So Halloween. I was definitely missing the fam on Halloween let me tell you. I know its like your favorite holiday mom so I was reminded of you every time I saw a Halloween decoration, which there were many. Halloween here is like a four day celebration. They call it "Dia de Muerte" or something like that. I'm not entirely sure. But they all party in the giant cemetery and no one works and the whole family comes over and it's just kind of nuts. They have giant family bingo parties in the streets and it's hilarious. Random fact, they also do zumba twice a week and they block of parts of the streets for it. It's a big deal. Me and Hermana Pugh want to join in so bad. anyways, I hope your Halloween was just lovely and i hope the children got lots of candy. Cherish your American candy kids.

Well, the Spanish is coming along. I still suck. But I am getting better at understanding what people are saying. I can understand my companion perfectly. But these people have these accents that are hard to deal with. Some days are better than others. But teaching is fun. I am really starting to love these people SO MUCH. We have so many awesome investigators. One of our favorites, if I am allowed to have favorites lol, is Rene Ponce. He is a 31 year old single dad with three kids. From two different women... that he wasn't married to... basically he just has a lot of issues and its really hard for him. But he is SUCH a good man. He loves his kids so much its insane. And he is so receptive to our message. He always pays attention and answers questions and doesn't just say ''Bien'' when we ask a question. People do that and it's really obnoxious. But no he is great. He has a Libro De Mormon and is reading it and praying about it. We are really excited to be working with him. We have very high hopes for this guy.

The people here, especially the members, love the missionaries here. This week we came home with a loaf of bread, a bag of candy, and this cute kid in the ward named Gabriel gave us 21 packs of crackers that he had been collecting from school. We were pretty stoked about our goodies. We always get lunch from members in the ward. And they feed us very well. I never leave hungry. I haven't told you this but we eat so much rice. LIKE SO MUCH RICE. I can't even describe how much rice. Every meal. Every day. SO MUCH RICE. Its insane. Mom I like rice now. hahahahahahahahahah

So I decided I'm going to start doing a scripture of the week. This weeks scripture, that I happened upon in a moment of need, is JOHN 14:16. Please, everybody read it. It's so simple but so amazing. I know that finding that scripture was no accident. And I am very grateful. Hope you all enjoy it.

Also cool thought for you all. As I have been a missionary for almost 2 months I've learned something. On our name tags we represent two people. Jesus Christ is the first. It's an honor to wear his name let me tell you. Our Savior is one incredible human being and to wear his name is an amazing blessing. The second thing we represent is our families. I am Hermana Parker. I don't have a first name anymore because I represent my family, not myself. It is an honor as well to represent my amazing family. I am very blessed. Thank you guys. <3

Well mama I want to send you more pictures. But we don't ever really take our cameras out yonder. But this week me and Hermana Pugh want to so stay tuned next for pictures of Jipijapa. I love this city. It's amazing. BUT I have one picture for you this week. And I want you to just imagine how happy I am about this thing okay. Just let it sink in... all my happiness...

Hey for Christmas I would like birthday cake oreos and Spanish scripture mastery cards. and your love. That is all.

Hey so I love you guys, thank you for the emails and the prayers and the pictures. I love you all so much.

Also, this is an address I have. I don't know if it's the same as the one you have. Both will work, but I just have this one if you need it. Thank you for sending me stuff. That makes me happy that you are sending me things.
