Mama Llama,
Hi hi hi :)
Wow i just love you. Just thought I would remind you hehe. I
am so happy to hear that your week was so good! And I am SO glad you
had lunch with Christine!!! That makes me so happy! How is she? How was
it? Give me all the deets! And I hope you hug her for me! Also Makenzie.
I love her.
So P days are my favorite day. We
only study for two hours in the morning, normally its four (awesome
huh), and then we clean our cute apartment for an hour and then we head
out and run our errands. We buy our food, buy whatever things we need,
print pictures, send letters, and then we write our fams for an hour. And then we get to take a NAP. YES A NAP. Guys I know you know how much I
love naps. We get to just chill out until 6 and then go out for three
hours before coming back home. Seriously Monday's are the bomb. Today was
a little different though because I had to go hunt for a million things
for our 72 hour packs. I thought you'd appreciate this mom. We have a
emergency pack ready for us just in case. It's got three days worth of
food and clothes and health stuff and water and it's just great. We are
completely prepared for emergencies here in Jipijapa. We had to go buy
back packs today and I was cracking up because I got this sweet Adidas
back pack and you could totally tell that it wasn't authentic. But its a
sweet backpack. I hope I can take it home but I don't know, we will see. ANYWAYS.
Know that I am prepared for emergencies and I bought food today and I
get to take a nap. That's all that matters.
We
had a DOPE weekly planning meeting this week. Me and Hermana Pugh plan
our weeks out with each investigator, each less active, and each convert
that we have. What we are gonna teach, when we will teach them, every
detail. It takes about three hours or more to get it all done. And this
week our meeting was extra long because we talked a lot about the
members this week. We REALLY want to focus on the members in our cute
little branch. We can't stress how important it is to have the trust of
members as missionaries. We literally cannot do anything without the
support of members. We can teach hundreds of new people but it wont
matter unless we have a good foundation of a ward for us to take them
too. There are four steps to missionary work. Finding, teaching,
baptizing, and maintaining- to put into simple terms. And ideally, the
missionaries should only have to do one of those things: teaching. And
right now me and Hermana Pugh do all four. And it is very stressful. We
don't have a ton of help. But, our goal for this week is to start
changing that. We are going to be working with the members A LOT. We
have a goal to visit at least one member a day so that we can really
start building good relationships with these people. We are super
excited. The members of our cute little branch are awesome. So many
awesome people. I love them.
We had interviews with President Dennis on Sunday!
It was kind of surprise and we didn't know they were going to happen
until about 15 minutes before hahaha. But it was nice to talk to him.
He's a very inspired man. And we talked about octopus, or "Pulpo" in Spanish. Apparently he really likes octopus. I myself am not a huge fan.
but I've only had to eat it once so pray I don't have to eat it again.
Not
this week but next weeks we go to Guayaquil for our mission wide
Christmas Conference! AND I AM SO EXCITED!!! I get to see my friends
from the MTC and we get a big Christmas Dinner and we get to stay in
temple housing and have hot showers! I am so excited. Stay tuned for
pictures with my friends :)
My scripture of the
week is Jacob 3:1-2. I found it this morning and I love it! I hope you
all liked my scripture from last week. I am going to do one every week
from now. Get pumped. Cause I am.
Hug every human in our household
for me. I LOVE YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH MOM. I miss you more than you know.
xoxoxo
Hermana Parker
